Position Overview
The Construction Accountant is responsible for managing financial records and reporting for construction projects. This role ensures accurate job costing, timely invoicing, and effective budget management to support the financial success of construction operations.
Key Responsibilities - Manage job costing for various construction projects to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
- Prepare and process invoices, ensuring timely submission and payment tracking.
- Monitor budgets and assist in financial forecasting for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Conduct monthly WIP (Work in Progress) analysis and provide reports to project managers.
- Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Utilize Sage 300 or Timberline for financial reporting, job costing, and project management.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards relevant to the construction industry.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of job costing and financial management for construction projects.
- Familiarity with construction accounting software.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, including V Lookups and Pivot Tables.
- CPA certification is a plus but not required.
- Understanding of construction-specific financial concepts such as Percent Complete and work in progress.
