Histotechnologist | Full-Time Days/Nights | Nebraska Methodist Hospital | $15,000 Sign-On Bonus!

Nebraska Methodist Hospital is seeking full-time Histotechnologists for both day and night shifts to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing, embedding, cutting, and staining tissue sections to prepare high-quality samples for pathologist examination. By following established policies and procedures, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate diagnoses and high-quality patient care. Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform routine H&E and special stains, ensuring quality standards based on pathologist feedback.
• Accurately evaluate and report staining quality of patient tissue slides.
• Maintain compliance with PPE guidelines and complete quality control documentation 100% of the time.
• Assist in training new and existing staff, ensuring all competency checklists are completed.
• Develop and document immunohistochemical staining protocols while maintaining validation records.
• Participate in inspections, proficiency testing, and quality assurance to meet CAP and JCAHO accreditation requirements.

Location:

• Nebraska Methodist Hospital - 8303 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE.

Schedule:

• 40 hour week.
• Day or night shift available.

Salary:

• Pay starts at $22.00 an hour and may increase based on work history/experience.
• $15,000 sign-on bonus.
• Tuition reimbursement.

Job Qualifications:

• Completion of an approved histotechnician or histotechnologist program.
• 1 year experience preferred.
• Current national certification as a histotechnologist (HTL), (American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required.
