Interior Design Assistant Coordinator
International hospitality group looking for a detail-oriented interior design assistant/coordinator for international projects and domestic properties. Greenwich CT office with potential international travel. 3-5 years of design and construction project coordination experience required.
Role Responsibilities:
- Source FF&E options and pricing for principal
- Attend weekly site visits with contractors and architects at job sites in NYC and discovery trips to vendors, fabric houses and manufacturers both domestic and abroad
- Demonstrate a highly organized and systematic approach to producing a project and maintaining several project deadlines simultaneously
- Keep meticulous spec books and accounting records for each project
- Find and vet subcontractors, artisans and products from around the world
- Assist principal in floor plan, furniture plans and custom furniture designs in CAD or comparable software
- Logistical coordination of multiple international shipments to multiple destinations
- Oversee sample library and constantly update with newest collections from fabric houses
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements & Preferred Skills:
- Minimum 3 years relevant interior design and or construction project coordination experience, ideally in the luxury or hospitality arena
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit or comparable interior design software
- Must be able to commute daily to office in Greenwich, CT and attend weekly site visits in NYC
- Have an up-to-date passport and able to travel internationally as needed
- Strong understanding of luxury and contract furniture, textiles, finishes and their functionality
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, handling multiple residential and commercial design projects simultaneously
- Strong communicator – language skills a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian)
- Ability to read and understand construction documentation
- Self-starter that owns their tasks and can proactively execute quickly and efficiently
