Job Description

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience teaching Spanish using a full immersion approach (95% target language)
• Demonstrate the ability to plan lessons using authentic literature with integrated performance assessments,, games, songs and projects
• Demonstrate a knowledge of Total Physical Response (TPR) techniques and engage multiple modalities so that students can retain information 
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and the curriculum chair to refine the existing FLES program
• Demonstrate a willingness to integrate Spanish language instruction with other disciplines 

Qualifications and Preferences:

• Maturity, collegiality, flexibility, humor 
• Excellent speaking and writing skills 
• 3-5 years’ teaching experience with Grades 4 – 8 
• BA in Elementary education or related field; MA in Spanish, Foreign Language instruction or a related field not required but preferred
• Native fluency in Spanish language 
• Demonstrable commitment to professional development 

Salary Range dependent on experience : $69,500 - $113,300
