RESPONSIBILITES:

1. Strategic Leadership and Operational Excellence

  • Lead strategic initiatives to optimize operations and improve profitability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in construction methodologies, project management practices, and team collaboration.
  • Provide input on risk analysis, capacity, and financial objectives to guide operational strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies on all construction projects.
  • Monitor and analyze metrics such as response time, downtime, and repair time, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Achieve KPIs and contribute to the overall success of JCC, including meeting profitability, customer satisfaction, and project delivery goals.

2. Customer Relations and Business Development

  • Foster and maintain customer relations through visits, complaint resolution, agreement interpretation, and quality monitoring.
  • Oversee customer-related activities, monitor service metrics, and recommend improvements.
  • Negotiate contracts to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes for both customers and JCC.
  • Resolve project issues with the team and customers, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
  • Represent JCC at industry events, conferences, and forums to maintain visibility and build business relationships.

3. Team Development and Leadership

  • Develop, mentor, and support a self-directed team of managers to ensure operational excellence.
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive team culture where all members feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives.
  • Conduct employee reviews, career development, and lead regional training efforts to enhance skills and foster professional growth.
  • Mentor Project Managers (PMs) to build strong leadership within the team.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of staffing levels required to deliver excellent customer service and actively participate in recruitment and interviews to ensure adequate staffing.

4. Project Planning and Execution

  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, reviews, and audits, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Collaborate with General Superintendents and Project Managers for planning, execution, and safety, promoting a culture of safety and operational efficiency.
  • Track labor reporting and commitments on projects to ensure accurate resource allocation and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor the performance of subcontractors and vendors, ensuring quality control and adherence to contractual obligations.

5. Financial and Operational Management

  • Manage budgets and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed within financial targets.
  • Compile billing backups and review invoices to ensure accuracy and timely billing.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to assess market accuracy, risks, and opportunities for future growth.

6. Innovation and Competitive Advantage

  • Drive innovation in construction techniques and technology to maintain a competitive advantage.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing large-scale projects. Experience in facilities, support services or a similar industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong familiarity with construction project management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Adobe or other PDF tools. Experience with estimating and scheduling software is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences, including C-suite executives and external partners.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, making high-level strategic decisions, and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to balance competing priorities and shift gears quickly as project needs evolve.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, with a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and long-term success.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Experience working with government clients, including USACE, GSA, NAVFAC, or similar entities.
  • Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 standards and compliance requirements.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Construction Management Certification is a plus.
