Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:   

The person hired for the position of Product Development Associate - Tech will have the opportunity to work with the core product development team on projects related to consumer product development. This person will develop skills and gain work experience pertaining to electronics design and development, design for manufacturability, and consumer products. The growth track will lead to full responsibility for the technical aspects of development of entire programs and eventually categories.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:   

• Quickly test development products and communicate opportunities for improvement  
• Work with the design team and PMs to ensure adequate product performance meet the customer requirements and specs are uploaded in a timely manner for approval  
• Conduct market analysis on competitive products  
• Monitor and write technical content for online product listings  
• Aide in consumer research projects on new technology products/projects  
• Review/Edit/Communicate Product Specifications and Instruction Manuals for Consumer Products  
• Communicate product functional characteristics to the customer in a clear and concise manner  

Basic Qualifications:   

• 2-year technical degree or technically minded individual with a passion for consumer products  
• Self-motivated individual always looking for how to help, not waiting for directions  
• Excellent communication skills to be able to communicate clearly with customers  
• Experience with Microsoft Excel worksheets and data entry  

Preferred Qualifications:   

• Experience with consumer products for mass retail  
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or business with a passion for consumer products  
• Current overall cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) 
• Experience with the Microsoft and Google suite of computer programs  
• Experience with technical tools such as digital calipers, multi-meter, and other tools  
• Strong interest in consumer electronics, home products and gadgets

Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Work Location: On-Site, Eden Prairie, Minnesota *Local candidates only as no budget available for relocation.

Estimated Salary Range: between $65,000-$73,000 per year, subject to previous experience.
