The Opportunity

The role of the Quality Technician is pivotal in the production process, conducting consistent inspections on components and finished goods, per drawings/specifications, to ensure products meet PWR's quality standards prior to distribution. As part of this position, individuals will perform random checks on documents and production processes to ensure accuracy, as well as check, maintain, and perform control system calibrations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of GD&T.
  • Conduct finished product inspections with hand gauges and measurement systems
  • Conduct Romer arm programming and operations to measure complex components
  • Inspect first piece on work order parts for correctness
  • Perform inspections on incoming goods as required
  • Conduct PPAP dimensional evaluations
  • Log and maintain inspection data as needed for evaluating and reporting
  • Maintain calibration system and conduct calibrations as needed
  • Support all ISO 9001 and IATF16949 Quality objectives
  • Cross train on overlapping job functions
  • CMM programming and operations to measure components
  • Support all inspection processes to ensure high quality products
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Required Qualifications

  • Romer Arm or CMM experience
  • Able to read drawings and interpret specifications
  • Able to use quality inspection hand tools
  • Fundamental computer skills
  • Well detailed and disciplined to effectively manage products and data
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Able to interpret quality data
  • Extensive computer skills for advance work preferred

Education / Experience

  • High School degree
  • 2-5 years of experience

Working Conditions

  • Position will work within a team atmosphere focused on immediate production standards as well as best practices for future growth.
  • Position requires activity throughout a manufacturing/ machinery/shop setting.
  • Position will require interacting and working within a shop/manufacturing environment where welding equipment and various machinery are used.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Position requires a significant amount of time standing, bending, and lifting materials required to fulfill the inspection process.
  • Able to see clearly to conduct inspections
