About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced and well-connected Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their leadership team. This pivotal role focuses on scaling the firm’s operations and relationships within the water resource sector. The ideal candidate will leverage their established contacts and relationships with organizations such as Metro Water and major vendors requiring subcontractors. The COO will play a crucial role in developing systems, processes, and partnerships that drive business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement operational strategies to scale the firm’s water and wastewater services.
• Build and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including Metro Water, major vendors, and subcontractors in the water resources space.
• Oversee the creation and optimization of systems and processes to support project delivery and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to identify new business opportunities and expand the firm’s market presence.
• Drive business development efforts in the water and wastewater sectors, leveraging your network to secure contracts and partnerships.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the civil engineering or water resource sectors.
• Strong network and established relationships in the water and wastewater industry, particularly with organizations like Metro Water and major vendors.
• Demonstrated success in scaling operations and building systems for efficiency and growth.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable goals.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
